Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) has a lot of titles — Lakers small forward, rapper (kind of), mentally unstable human being (by my diagnosis) and now he adding one more title to his ever-growing repertoire — actor. That’s right, Metta World Peace will be starring as detective Garlan Finch in a movie based on the novel, “The Eleventh Victim” by Nancy Grace.
He landed the role after he became friends with Grace on Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars, Dime Mag reports:
“Turns out World Peace and [Nancy] Grace became fast friends during their stint on Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars.([Co-star] Garth is also a Dancing alum.) The Garlan character ‘is very dear to my heart,’ says Grace, who authored The New York Times best-selling novel based on her real-life experiences and serves as one of the film’s executive producers. ‘I wanted to cast someone for whom I have a true fondness. Metta World Peace was my first pick.’”
Strange? Yes. But, for the first time ever, I might actually watch something on the Lifetime channel. Mr. World Peace will debut his acting skills this fall.
