Former USC quarterback Matt Leinart is doing his part to ring in the new year in a solid way with a simple 10 dollar purchase.
Matt Leinart is the latest athlete/celebrity to team up with Airbnb to help their cause by making #OneLessStranger. Brian Chesky, the CEO of Airbnb, recently gifted $1 million to 100,000 global community members. Those hand-picked persons will each receive $10 to use toward a random and unique act of kindness of their choosing.
In the video above, Leinart approaches total strangers and asks them to toss a football (which he bought for $10) around, and meanwhile takes that time to get to know them. The video is part of the larger social experiment set up by Airbnb that encourages people to go out, meet strangers, and share their stories online as part of the #OneLessStranger campaign. For more information on Brian Chesky’s generous contribution and cause, check out the video below.
The bottom line is that Chesky and Airbnb want a world in which all seven billion of us feel as if we can belong anywhere at anytime, and I think we can all agree that the idea is pretty damn awesome.
