Ever since sportswear giant Adidas ended its lucrative partnership with superstar rapper Kanye West in late 2022 following his string of antisemitic comments, there has been a bit of bad blood between the company and West. And that feud reached another chapter this week.
After ending its deal with Kanye West, Adidas made the decision to sell of its remaining Yeezy branded products before ultimately ending the line. But West claims that the products they are now selling under his name and branding are not authorized or designed by him, he is not being paid for the products that they are selling, and they are suing him for $250 million.
“Let me explain to you really clear to you guys what is happening with Adidas,” West said in a video shared to Instagram. “Not only are they putting out fake colorways that are not approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re also not paying me for shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it.”
Obviously, this is quite a bold claim from West, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
