Pop art artist Rokudenashiko, “good-for-nothing girl,” became her own (wo)man in the canoe…or kayak as it where, in 2105 after 3d printing her genitalia and making a kayak out of it. Japanese authorities arrested her and slapped her with an obscenity charge that could have landed her in jail for 2 years, when she uploaded the files for use.
Igarashi argued what she did was art and said she wanted to draw attention to the misogyny in her country, which makes female genitalia a taboo subject, but at the same time celebrates the penis in an annual, “Festival of the Steel Phallus.”
She was fined for obscenity, but the judge dropped the other charges, like the genitalia-based kayak, since the it didn’t adequately represent genitalia and as a result, didn’t have the same arousal factor.
You be the judge.
