In a world full of crack-smoking mayors, men suing their wives for birthing ugly kids, and Justin Bieber’s Brazilian adventures, we figured we’d take a moment to deliver a more uplifting story.
Jim Wolf is a homeless United States Army veteran who has battled poverty and alcoholism for decades. In September, Wolf volunteered, through Dégagé Ministries, to participate in a full makeover courtesy of Design 1 Salon & Spa in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The video is a timelapse of the entire transformation, and the final result is stunning. And, in even better news, an epilogue to the video reports that Wolf is currently scheduled to have his own housing (which means he’s likely in transitional housing at the moment), and is participating in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for the first time in his life.
