The ice bucket challenge has reached such a ubiquity in our society that it raises personal questions on the value of viral activism (so far, the ALS Association has raised $15.6 million since July 29th compared to $50,000 it raised over the same time period a year ago), whether dumping ice water on one’s head should be necessary to raise money for a good cause (especially when there’s a drought) and whether this sort of active push for ALS funding can be self-sustaining or if it’ll be a fad that’ll inevitably be included in a VH1 special some day.

However, there is no question that the ice bucket challenge has provided humanity with some glorious entertainment. This compilation of people messing up the ice bucket challenge makes it all worth it. Who knew that dumping ice water on someone’s head could get so complicated?
