Do Raiders fans ever get sick of the re-location rumors?
Decades of constant moving, moving back, rumors of moving back to the place they moved from and then moved back to but decided not to move from before moving back to that place, have produced more excitement than the franchise’s on-field product over the past decade.
Now, according to former Raiders player David Humm, late owner Al Davis had dreams of sending the team to the desert of Las Vegas.
“He would have loved to have moved the Raiders here (Las Vegas). He told me that many times,” the former QB told the Las Vegas Journal-Review.
Humm, who spent seven years with the team during a ten-year career from 1975-1984, added, “He loved this town, but there’s no way commissioner Pete Rozelle would have allowed it because of the sports books and gambling.”
Davis held many of his birthday parties in the Sin City and a memorial service was even held there following his 2011 death.
