I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s picks; however, we ended up doing better in the NFL (2-0) than we did in the NBA (1-1-1). The association is back at it tonight with a full slate of games. Let’s jump in to it!
Spurs -7.5 @ Raptors
The Spurs have hit the skids lately, losing three of their last five games. San Antonio’s defense has allowed 107.7 points per game over the past three games, which is horrendous by their standards. However, the Spurs have won their last three games in Toronto and the last five in the series. The Raptors will have their newly acquired Kings tonight and the lineup will be a bit off kilter. Look for the Spurs to take full advantage of the uncertainty and run through the Raptors with relative ease. Spurs by 12.
Thunder -3.5 @ Hawks
The Thunder have been playing lights out over their past 11 games, going 10-1. OKC is also coming off one of the best wins in the NBA this season when they took down the Pacers 118-94. Kevin Durant has been the best player in the NBA over the past two weeks and the domination should continue tonight in Atlanta. Who is going to guard KD for the Hawks? Well, I don’t think it really matters. Durant is going to have over 30 points tonight and Russell Westbrook should find success against Jeff Teague. The Hawks have been playing well and are a solid 7-3 at home. I just don’t believe they have enough firepower to compete with the Thunder tonight. Thunder by 8.
Knicks +2.5 @ Cavaliers
The Knicks have the third worst record in the NBA and haven’t been able to establish an identity without Tyson Chandler on the floor. However, the Knicks should find an offensive flow tonight, especially on the perimeter, against the Cavaliers. While the Cavs have won 3 of their past 4 contests, they are still struggling to find solid outside scoring other than from Kyrie Irving. Andrew Bynum, Tristan Thompson and Anderson Varejao should find success on the interior but I still believe the Knicks aren’t as bad as they’ve been playing and that they will take down a severely flawed Cavs team tonight. Knicks by 3.
Season: 5-8-1
P.S. Watch the Pacers-Heat game tonight in Indiana. The Pacers are favored by three points. I like the Pacers to win.
