If you’ve got it flaunt it, and that is certainly what some of the world’s biggest sports stars absolutely love to do. Whether it’s a fleet of cars or a countryside mansion these big named players certainly aren’t shy about spending their millions on luxuries.
Floyd Mayweather
On May 2nd American pro boxer Floyd Mayweather will be heading in to the ring to take on Filipino world champion boxing star Manny Pacquiao. The much hyped event will put a lot of pressure on the two champions but with the sort of money Mayweather has accumulated in his career and the many, many luxury purchases he has made we’re sure that’ll help soften the blow.
The 38 year old Mayweather reportedly takes home around $80 million a year and has just recently added a brand new Mercedes-Maybach S600 worth $210,000 to his ever growing collection of cars. A collection that already includes a Porsche 911 Turbo S, two Ferrari 458 Spiders, a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Lamborghini Aventador and also two Bugatti Veyrons.
Lionel Messi & Gerard Pique
Whilst some sports stars choose to buy up lavish items and throw their money on extravagance and live the millionaire’s life there are certain stars who like to enjoy a game of chance and like to better spend their time and their money in the casinos. Barcelona footballers Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique were recently spotted in a local casino unfortunately it was just 48 hours before an important clash with Manchester City. Messi himself has even used his wealth to buy his neighbours house in Barcelona simply because they were being too loud.
Rafael Nadal
Tennis star Rafael Nadal isn’t too keen on spending his cash of extravagant watches and other similar treats and would rather use his money to help build his excessive DVD and video game collection. Nadal interestingly is also someone who enjoys his time in the casino famously competing against football legend Ronaldo in a charity event in London. So there’s always a chance you may come up against a bonified sporting legend the next time you’re playing the tables online.
Nadal is not the only tennis star to be a little opulent when it comes to his specific tastes and interests. Serbia’s Novak Djokovic has won no less than 8 Grand Slam victories so far in his career and could it be down to his expensive New Zealand-imported manuka honey that the 27 year old has specially flown in.
Tiger Woods
Even though he struggles these days to impress on the golf course Tiger Woods has used his accrued fortune to buy himself his Jupiter Island estate. The estate contains a huge 3.5 acre golf course and a running track and is valued at a whopping $60 million. But of course if he needs a change of scenery he can always head off on his private jet or even his 155 foot yacht.
