Gifting
The philosophy at Burning Man is “anti-capitalism”. Burners are responsible to provide themselves with food and any other amenities they may want or need. Since there is no purchasing of anything, the law of the land is gifting. They say that the value of a gift is unconditional, and does not require a return. The only two items that can be purchased are ice and coffee. With the gifting culture, there’s now an excuse to interact with other people.
