Art Installations
The festival is known to be one of the largest art exhibits in the world. The art theme for this year is Caravansary, all the art is created by participants. Everyone is welcome to bring his or her own art, if you want it to live on the open playa, you’re required to register it. Past art installations have included, fire-breathing thistles, submarines, monkeys, temples and much more. People put in months of work to showcase their art for one week. At night most of the art illuminates the dark skid. Many people also convert cars into art-carts, they turn it into a mini float filled with lights, creative decorations and music. The engineering and design that go into each structure is absolutely unbelievable.
