Drone operator Adam Lancaster received unexpected resistance during a recent flight on the outskirts of Melbourne, Australia, as a wedge-tailed eagle came out of nowhere to crush his drone He spoke with Buzzfeed, saying he knew there were eagles in the area but hadn’t seen them recently.
We first saw the eagle circle us, but it disappeared. Then it came back into our direction and the next minute it flew out of the tree and took me out.
Lancaster also said the drone was damaged in the fall and not from the eagle’s punch, but the eagle appeared to be just fine.
