2011 was a wild year. It was kind of mess to be honest with you. But messiness breeds some creativity and there were tons of solid memes that hit the interwebs this year. It was hard to pick a group that truly epitomized the year. But we did our best. Here are the top 10 memes of 2011.
10. Dimitri Finds Out…
This video originally shows this young European kid finding out that Osama had been murcked. And then the internet just had it’s way with it.

9. The 99%
This one actually annoyed the sh*t out of me, but it’s gotta be on the list…
8. The Honey Badger
The Honey Badger went hard in 2011. It dropped in January so it just barely made the cut, but references have been everywhere in pop culture.
7. Vancouver Riots / Angry Asian
This is a personal favorite.
6. Owling
Planking was on the verge of changing the world and then the Owling camp was all, “F*ck this. We got Next.”
5. The Situation Room
One of the most captivating real images of the year got the internet treatment over and over again.
4. Good Guy Greg
Internet memes are usually cruel and petty. It was refreshing to have one based on a genuinely good guy like “Greg”. Based off the epic Scumbag Steve meme.
3. First World Problems
A nice little politically charged meme. Everyone was crying all year about how their money wasn’t right or their job wasn’t perfect. This meme was a elegant FU for the western civ masses.
2. Joseph Ducreux
Just felt like the creativity in this one was great. Well done, Internet.
1. #TigerBlood
Charlie Sheen was the man of the year. Period. He wins.
