Scientist and photographer, Mohamed Babu, got the idea of creating colored ants after his wife showed him that ants turned white after they drank spilled milk on their kitchen counter. Dr. Babu mixed sugar drops with red, green, blue, and yellow food coloring which he put in his garden to attracts the ants. Due to the transparent stomachs ants have, Babu was able to photograph the ants with the liquids they drank. He found that the ants preferred the lighter colors like yellow and green.
