Colorado star quarterback Shedeur Sanders showed that he is one of the best players in all of college football this past season. But one college football coach attacked his character while defending one of his players from criticism that Sanders delivered to him recently.
Sanders recently blasted UTEP safety Xavier Smith, who used to play for Colorado alongside Sanders, on social media after Smith offer his opinions on Deion Sanders as a head coach.
“Ion even remember him,” Shedeur Sanders wrote on social media of Smith. “Bro had to be very mid at best.”
Scotty Walden, the new head coach at UTEP, took notice of Sanders comments, defending his player in his own social media post.
“I coached Xavier at AP (Austin Peay) and now here at UTEP,” wrote Walden. “He is the furthest thing from soft. He is a great kid/player and led us to a conference title. He answered a question honestly in an interview and was just telling his side. He was a freshman AA and has an extremely bright future on and off the field. I am glad he is on my team. Check the tape!”
On the surface, it was a bit harsh for Sanders to go at Xavier Smith so viciously. Sure, Smith was critical of his dad, Deion Sanders. But it was also understandable for Smith to feel the way he did after Deion Sanders basically forced him to transfer from Colorado.
Regardless, it sure seems like Shedeur Sanders is becoming less and less popular across the country as of late.
