Shedeur Sanders Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Last season, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders burst onto the scene during his first year starting with the team and emerged as one of the biggest stars in all of college football. Despite that, it doesn’t sound like expectations are all that high around him heading into next season.

Even though Shedeur Sanders is one of the most productive returning quarterbacks in the country next season and likely could have entered the NFL Draft, he does not have particularly strong odds of winning the Heisman Trophy next season, according to Fan Duel.

Last week, Fan Duel released their initial odds for the 2024 Heisman Trophy race, and Sanders wasn’t even listed among the top 10 potential candidates. In fact, he wasn’t even initially listed among those with the top 20 odds to win college football’s top award.

This led to quite a lot of buzz on social media.

Last season, Sanders finished with a 69.3 completion percentage, throwing for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Even though his team finished with just a 4-8 record, he still emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in the country and likely could have entered the NFL Draft last season if he chose to.
