In this age of college football, we see players entering the transfer portal left and right for a number of different reasons. But instead of doing this, former top recruit Arch Manning has surprisingly opted to take a different route with the Texas Longhorns.

When news broke that star quarterback Quinn Ewers would be staying in college for his final season of eligibility at Texas instead of entering the 2024 NFL Draft, many thought that we could naturally see Arch Manning transfer out of the program instead of sitting behind Ewers for another year.

Manning decided against this, staying at Texas to further learn behind Ewers as he patiently awaits his first career start in college football.

In the eyes of many, it’s a commendable decision from Manning to not run away from adversity and instead taking on an uphill battle with Ewers for the starting job, which should make him a better quarterback in the process.

Peyton Manning, Arch’s uncle, also appreciates his nephew’s loyalty, saying during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday that he is “proud” of how Arch has “conducted himself” at Texas .

“My allegiances are always to the Tennessee Volunteers,” said Peyton Manning, an alumnus of Tennessee. “But I’m pulling hard for my nephew. I’m proud of him for how he has handled himself at Texas. Looking forward to watching him throughout his career there.”

Only time will tell whether Arch finds his way onto the field this coming season. But either way, he will continue to grow alongside Ewers in perhaps the most talented quarterback room in all of college football.
