The Texas Longhorns have gotten off to a blistering hot start this season. The Longhorns opened their season with a complete dismantling of Colorado State. The Longhorns followed this with a trip north to Ann Arbor, Michigan where they undressed the the 10th-ranked Michigan Wolverines.
In the third game of the season, things took an interesting turn.
Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers went down with an injury and was replaced by five-star recruit, Arch Manning, the nephew of legendary quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning. Arch lit up the show, throwing for a touchdown on his first passing attempt.
Arch followed that up with an impressive 67-yard touchdown run that turned heads around the country, including ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter wasn’t the only prominent media figure to take note of Manning’s impressive performance, one in which he finished the game with a jaw-dropping stateline of 9-for-12 and 223 yards, to go along with four touchdowns.
Paul Finebaum said on Sportscenter that Arch would be the first Manning to bring home college football’s highest honor.
“Book it. Arch Manning is going to win the Heisman. I am in on that. His granddad and Peyton probably should have won it and Arch will… I don’t know if he’ll win it this year, but Arch Manning will definitely win the Heisman at Texas.”

It certainly looks like Arch has all the tools to prove Finebaum right. If he shows out again in Texas’ upcoming game against UL Monroe, the Longhorns may have quarterback controversy on their hands.
