This weekend, college football’s most iconic rivalry will kick off once again as the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Michigan Wolverines in The Game with Big Ten title hopes and a potential College Football Playoff appearance on the line. And it sounds like Ohio State star cornerback Denzel Burke is ready.
During his interview session on Tuesday, Burke had some strong and confident words ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Michigan, particularly when he was asked what stands out about this Michigan offense when he sees it on film.
“Nothing,” Burke said bluntly, according to Eleven Warriors. “We just gotta go out there and do our job and really compete, play hard for each other.”
Now in his third year with the Buckeyes, Burke has yet to taste a single victory over the Wolverines as Michigan has won each of the past few matchups. But while he claims he isn’t necessarily feeling any extra pressure to notch his first victory over Michigan, he sure sounds confident.
“I’m very emotional, I’m trying not to get out of character but this game means a lot to us,” Burke said. “We’re gonna get it done for the state of Ohio”
The Buckeyes are a 3.5-point underdog to the Wolverines in Saturday’s game as they look to notch their first win in the rivalry since the 2019 season.
