Ohio State Buckeyes superstar freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is one of the most hyped freshmen in recent memory and is expected to make an immediate impact on one of the most talented rosters in the country. But it sounds like he’s still staying humble.

During a recent interview at an NIL event, Jeremiah Smith made it clear that he is not paying attention to all of the hype and he just wants to go out and play football.

“I know the pressure all around me is very high right now. I don’t want to feed into that, I just want to play football, win games, and win a National Championship,” Smith said in a video shared by Adam King of 10TV.

Smith is expected to be a day-one starter for the Buckeyes and will have a chance to begin his legacy immediately at Ohio State, but he’s still staying humble and willing to wait his turn if he has to.

“Just coming in here to learn,” Smith said. “You got guys that have been here like Emeka [Egbuka], Carnell Tate, Brandon Inniss who have been here. If I have to wait my time, then I have to wait my time. Marvin Harrison did it, why can’t I do it?”

It’s unlikely that he’ll have to wait long, however, as all signs point to him having a starting role as just a true freshman.
