Ever since he retired from coaching, former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has dedicated much of his time and energy to speaking out against NIL, which he thinks is ruining college football. But not everyone shares this opinion.
Legendary rapper Luther Campbell, the frontman for the hip-hop group 2 Live Crew, had some pretty shocking claims about Nick Saban in response to the former coach’s comments regarding NIL.
In a post on social media, Campbell made it clear that he thinks Saban hates Black people and used black kids for profit throughout his coaching career.
Time and time these coaches show their true colors once they get out of the game. Nick Saban is no different than Tommy Tubberville They hate Black people they think black kids are their slaves for them to only profit off of. Trust me, there’s more races head coaches out there… https://t.co/894PYLYFZ0

“Time and time these coaches show their true colors once they get out of the game. Nick Saban is no different than Tommy Tubberville They hate Black people they think black kids are their slaves for them to only profit off of. Trust me, there’s more races [sic] head coaches out there right now today coaching take a look at their staffs. You can easily find the ones who have never had a black OC or a quarterback coach,” Campbell said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Obviously, these claims from the legendary rapper led to a strong reaction on social media.

I think, I’m starting to see the real Nick, by the company he’s seated next to. Politics tells a lot about who you are and what your mindset is. Don’t want to compare him to Tubberville…yet, but you’re starting to look fishy Coach. https://t.co/ocLML8UeZo

The is pretty ignorant. Saban is no where close to being like Tubberville. https://t.co/OX5JnZFIbJ

This is the 2nd Tommy Tuberville showing how he feels about black kids. They have problem with your kids making a few dollars off of their talent, yet this is the same coach that will come into your home and do the electric slide to get your kids to sign https://t.co/wzPMuczXlD

Out of all the coaches to accuse of being racist Saban should be the last one https://t.co/NyTYx0CqdT

Keep in mind this man exploited young women in his rap videos and is one of the main reasons The U ended up on NCAA probation. He basically destroyed the U. Story from me to come later. https://t.co/fQyC2x3Qua

It’s certainly a wild claim from Campbell that generated a lot of reactions.
