Jim Harbaugh Detroit Free Press

After leading the Michigan Wolverines to the College Football Playoff national championship earlier this month, Jim Harbaugh is now moving on to the NFL, accepting a position as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers. With Harbaugh on his way out, Michigan will now need a new head coach, and it sounds like Harbaugh has made his choice clear.

During a recent interview with The Detroit News, Jim Harbaugh made it clear that he thinks offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Sherrone Moore should be the program’s next head coach.

“I’ll always be a loyal Wolverine,” Harbaugh told The Detroit News. “But not a better man to coach the team than Sherrone Moore. He has my vote, my support wholeheartedly. I feel like it’s in great hands.”

Moore already has experience leading the team on game days. While Jim Harbaugh served a three-game suspension this season as a result of the NCAA investigation into Michigan’s alleged illegal sign-stealing scheme, Moore served as the acting head coach of the team on game days where he led Michigan to a 3-0 record with wins over Penn State, Maryland and Ohio State.

We’ll have to see whether or not Moore is who Michigan names its next head coach.
