Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is once again rumored as a prospective candidate for NFL coaching jobs, but it sounds like Adam Schefter is ready to rule out one potential destination for Harbaugh – the Chicago Bears.
During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, NFL insider Adam Schefter addressed the rumors and reports linking Jim Harbaugh to the Chicago Bears job – should they decide to move on from current head coach Matt Eberflus – making it clear that he doesn’t think that’s a move the Bears would make.
“He said before, well, I’m gonna stay in Michigan, but each year these teams come calling and if they come calling again, I would imagine he’ll listen again,” Schefter said. “That’s what he’s done in the past. I don’t know that he’ll listen. And when you look at the teams out there, I think Greeny brought up Chicago. I think you’re more along the lines of the right call there. I don’t see Chicago doing that right now. That’s just my sense. I don’t see it.”
Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see, but it sounds like if Harbaugh does decide to move back to the NFL, it doesn’t sound like it will be with the Chicago Bears.
In the meantime, Harbaugh will be trying to lead the Michigan Wolverines to a national title as the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.
