SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey has not typically been one to share his political views publicly, but he certainly provided a little hint about where he leans politically when he shared a book that he read over the summer.
In a post on social media this week, Greg Sankey revealed that over the summer, he had been reading a book written by right-wing sports analyst and personality Clay Travis titled “American Playbook: A Guide to Winning Back the Country from the Democrats.”
Sankey also shared an excerpt from the book written by Travis.
Summer Reading Book #27 is AMERICAN PLAYBOOK by @ClayTravis “Worrying about failure isn’t healthy….if you only worry about failure, you don’t take career chances and you don’t stay committed to your core philosophies because you’re letting something else dictate your decisions.” pic.twitter.com/knZbQWhya5

“Worrying about failure isn’t healthy….if you only worry about failure, you don’t take career chances and you don’t stay committed to your core philosophies because you’re letting something else dictate your decisions,” the excerpt read.
Sankey has been the commissioner of the SEC since 2015 and has helped guide the conference into the modern era of college football including conference re-alignment as well as the transfer portal and the NIL era. He played an integral part in bringing the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners into the SEC as they are set to make their debuts in the conference this season.
And clearly, he leans Republican when it comes to his politics.
