Fireworks Gone Wrong Fireworks Gone Wrong

The Fourth of July is supposed to be a time of celebration, fun, and family. But unfortunately, a horrible accident put a damper on one celebration at a college football stadium.

On Wednesday night, a fireworks display at BYU’s LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah went horribly wrong, sending multiple people to the hospital after fireworks were accidentally fired directly into crowds of spectators.

A video shared by KUTV2 on social media shows fireworks landing in the stands of LaVell Edwards Stadium as well as in a crowd of people standing on the field to watch the show.

It’s not clear how many people were injured or the extent of those injuries, but KUTV2 reports that multiple people were taken to the hospital as a result of the injuries.

“[Spokesperson Janna-Lee Holland with the Provo Police Department] said fireworks shot into the stands and injured multiple people. The exact number and severity of injuries was not available,” Jared Turner of KUTV2 wrote.

“Video from the scene showed at least two fireworks shoot into the performers on the field, and another two shoot into the east stands where several people were watching.”

Obviously, this horrible incident led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Hopefully, everyone recovers from their injuries.
