The defending national champion Michigan Wolverines lost their second game of the season on Saturday when they fell to the Washington Huskies. And Michigan star running back Donovan Edwards seems to be placing at least some of the blame on Vegas.
Following the team’s loss on Saturday, Donovan Edwards was asked why he thought the Michigan players were slipping on the turf so often during the game.
Edwards was asked whether he felt it was an equipment issue or the condition of the playing surface. But in a shocking turn of events, Edwards instead placed the blame on Vegas in a bizarre answer to the question.

“It may have been Vegas out there, you know?” Edwards said.
It’s not clear what Edwards exactly was implying with this comment, but “Vegas” typically refers to sportsbooks in Las Vegas that house sports bets.
It seems that Edwards is suggesting that the game might have been rigged by Vegas bookmakers, which would obviously be an extreme accusation if he were serious.
Edwards did not elaborate on the comments as he simply declared that the team should have performed better despite the field conditions.
“I mean, you just gotta make plays when you can make plays. You can’t blame it on the turf or anything with the equipment,” Edwards said.
Whether he was serious or not, it was quite a bizarre thing to say during a postgame press conference.
