Most expected Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Devin Brown to transfer from the program once the team added Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard out of the transfer portal, but it sounds like Brown has absolutely no intentions to leave.

During an interview this week, Devin Brown made it clear that even though the Buckeyes brought in Will Howard this offseason, he intends to compete for the starting quarterback role.

“I’ve said it through and through, I’m a Buckeye, and I’m here to compete no matter what,” Brown said according to Eleven Warriors.

And Brown had some pretty harsh words for anyone who expects him to transfer if he does not win the job over Howard this spring.

“Honestly, I think people are cowards. I think people have this thought in their own heads that I’m gonna leave and I’m a quitter, but that’s never been me,” Brown said. “These people live wherever, in their mom’s basement, saying stuff about me and they don’t know [anything]. Excuse my language, but they don’t know anything. They don’t know who I am, they don’t know who I’ve been, and that’s always who I’ve been.”

Obviously, these are some strong words from Brown, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

We’ll have to see how the quarterback battle shakes out, but it’s clear that Brown has no intention of leaving.
