When Deion Sanders took over as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, many assumed that he would bring a little bit of juice to the team’s recruiting. While that has happened on some level, especially initially, it looks like Coach Prime has lost some of his steam on the recruiting trail as he lost both of his future quarterbacks this week.

In an absolutely brutal turn of events for Deion Sanders and Colorado, 2025 four-star quarterback Antwann Hill Jr. and 2024 three-star quarterback Danny O’Neil both decommitted from the Colorado football program on back-to-back days with Hill making his decision on Sunday and O’Neil announcing his move on Monday.

“BREAKING: Class of 2024 QB Danny O’Neil tells me he has Decommitted from Colorado. The 6’1 190 QB from Indianapolis, IN had been Committed to the Buffaloes since March. Was an Elite 11 Finalist. Colorado loses their 2025 & 2024 QB in back to back days,” recruiting expert Hayes Fawcett of On3 said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This leaves Sanders and Colorado with no high school quarterback commitments – a brutal turn of events just a few days from college football’s early signing period. As a result, the college football world had a lot to say about it on social media.

Whatever momentum Colorado had on the recruiting trail seems to be fading fast.
