Deion Sanders’ time as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes football team has seen no shortage of criticism and controversy. It has also brought intrigue to a program that was among the worst in the entire FBS before Sanders arrived.
Sanders had a proven track record as “Coach Prime”. He went 27-6 as the head coach of Jackson State before taking over in Boulder, Colorado.
The moxy and bravado of Coach Prime were heralded as a blueprint for the future of college football when Sanders debuted, but after losing steam in the back half of the season and finishing a measly 4-8, Sanders’ presence began to wear thin on his former supporters.
After the Buff’s first loss this season, there was a disgruntled report that Sanders wouldn’t allow the band to play the University fight song after touchdowns from his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders so that his son’s rap song could play over stadium speakers.
Deion Sanders called report that he told band not to play CU fight song "idiotic." Said media need to be more responsible w/ reporting.
"I have a huge platform. I could really get personal if I wanted to, but I choose not to do that, because it's not right."

Per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg Sanders has called the report “idiotic” and had a pretty clear warning for the media in response to the story.
“I have a huge platform,” Sanders said. “I could get really personal if I wanted to, but I choose not to do that, because it’s not right.”
Clearly, Sanders was not happy.
