The Colorado Buffaloes had a promising start to the season this year, winning their first three games and even earning a top-20 ranking in the AP Poll. Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep that momentum going as they won just one of their final eight games to finish with a 4-8 record. But head coach Deion Sanders still sounds pleased with what his team did this year.

During an appearance on the pregame show ahead of Thursday Night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys, Deion Sanders claimed that this season was “a season of hope” in contrast to next season, which he claims is “a season of expectation.”

“This was a season of hope,” Sanders said according to On3. “We instilled hope not only in our fan base, but in college football alike. But, next year is a season of expectation. Right now, we are recruiting our butts off. I’m recruiting as I speak. The expectation is everything. We have players that can get it done. We have a tremendous coaching staff. Now, we just got to add a few more pieces to the puzzle.”

This season may not have been the impressive result Colorado was hoping for, but it’s clear that they expect much more from the team next season.
