The Colorado Buffaloes got off to a hot start to begin their first season under new head coach Deion Sanders, opening the season with a perfect 3-0 record. But since then, it’s been much more disappointing as the team has now lost seven of its last eight games. But Sanders still sounds optimistic about the team’s future.
During his press conference this week, Deion Sanders made it clear that even though this may not have been the season he would have hoped from his Colorado team, it’s still a sign that the program is going in the right direction.
“We’re headed in the right direction,” Sanders said. “I’m not going to say we’re where we want to be because we want to be winning and dominating – of course. But we’re headed in the proper direction.”
Even if it’s been a disappointing season for Colorado, it’s still been an improvement from last season when the team won just one game to finish the season 1-11. And as a result, Sanders is proud of what his team has accomplished and what they are building in Colorado.
“I’m proud of the staff, I’m proud of everyone over in the building – in the house. I’m really happy,” said Sanders.
