Tom Brady was among the many shocked that Bill Belichick took the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina, but a reaction around Belichick’s personal life was another one that caused an uproar.
Belichick’s relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, had been made public in June when TMZ announced the couple met on a flight from Boston to Florida in 2021.
Since the announcement, Hudson has been handling the criticism pretty well.
Hudson showed support for Belichick and his new job by attending his introduction on Thursday in Chapel Hill. She was seated next to Millie Lombardi, the wife of new UNC general manger Michael Lombardi.
“We are onto Chapel Hill!!!” Hudson, a former college cheerleader, posted on her Instagram stories.
It was the perfect response. She was paying homage to an interview Belichick gave in 2014, the morning after an embarrassing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The former New England Patriots head coach wanted to quickly forget about that game and move on to the upcoming Cincinnati Bengals matchup.
The couple couldn’t evade the limelight. Especially when referencing the age differences.
Earlier in December, ESPN’s Kimberley Martin made a comment about the 72-year-old Belichick and recruiting “the youngins”:
ESPN’s Kimberley Martin: “Belichick has proven he can recruit the youngins.” 😳

Former defensive end Rob Ninkovich, who played for Belichick and the Patriots from 2009-16, followed suit and made a dig at Belichick about the relationship:

Belichick clearly doesn’t appear to worry about the age gap, and neither does Hudson.
