Former five-star quarterback prospect Arch Manning did not play much during his first season with the Texas Longhorns last year as he sat behind starter Quinn Ewers. Manning is expected to sit behind Ewers once again this season, barring something unexpected, but it sounds like he’s happy to learn from the more veteran quarterback.
During a recent interview at the Manning Passing Academy, Arch Manning sent a pretty clear message to Quinn Ewers about just how much he is enjoying sharing a locker room with the veteran quarterback, making it clear that he looks up to him and the two of them have become “really good friends” since he came to Texas.
“It’s nice having a guy like Quinn to look up to,” Manning said recently according to On3. “He was a highly-rated recruit and he’s such a good guy, so I’ve learned so much from him. We’ve become really good friends. I’m just really glad that I’m in such a good situation.”
Both Manning and Ewers were the highest-rated quarterbacks in their respective recruiting classes with Ewers signing with Ohio State in 2021 before ultimately transferring to Texas and Manning signing with Texas ahead of the 2023 season.
Needless to say, it’s one of the most talented quarterback rooms in the country.
