Arch Manning did not play much during his first season with the Texas Longhorns, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t improve a lot during his first year of college football while learning and developing behind starting quarterback Quinn Ewers.
While attending this week’s Manning Passing Academy this week, Arch Manning opened up a little bit on the areas of his game where he has seen the most improvement since signing with the Longhorns.
“Not trying to make too many plays on our own,” Manning said according to On3. “Just let the offense come to me, get it in the playmaker’s hands and just trying to get better each day.”
Manning is not expected to be the team’s starter this season either as Ewers is returning for another year with Texas, but Manning has been spending this offseason preparing himself to take over whenever his number is ultimately called – and that includes getting to know his new teammates.
“We have a bunch of new players with the portal and the new signing class,” Manning began. “You got to get the new chemistry down with them.”
We’ll have to see what opportunities Manning gets this season and whether or not he is able to make the most of them.
