Following the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban earlier this year, Alabama Crimson Tide star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor decided to leave the program and transfer to the Iowa Hawkeyes, where he was once committed out of high school. But he’s changed his mind and is now headed back to Alabama – and one of his teammates is not surprised.
During an interview session this week, Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham – who started across from Proctor at the other offensive tackle position last season – was asked his reaction to Kadyn Proctor returning to Alabama after briefly transferring.
“I mean that’s the standard. The grass isn’t always greener in other places. So, when things happen and you think that it might be better somewhere else, you get to find out the hard way that it’s not. It’s Alabama for a reason,” Latham said to reporters according to On3.
Proctor was one of the highest-rated offensive tackles in his 2023 high school recruiting class and was an immediate star for Alabama last season, earning as starting spot as a true freshman.
Needless to say, it sure sounds like the Crimson Tide was willing him to welcome him back to the team with open arms.
