The NCAA Tournament is the pinnacle of women’s college basketball, but there was a pretty major mistake with the court during this year’s tournament.
Ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game between NC State and Texas, the NCAA admitted that the two three-point lines were different distances from the basket as opposed to the uniform length that they are supposed to be.
“The three-point lines are different on each side of the court in Portland for the Elite Eight. The NCAA measured pregame and confirmed one side is a different three-point length than the other.
NC State and Texas agreed to play through it. #MarchMadness,” Awful Announcing said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

The teams two teams did agree to play on the court despite the major mistake since both teams have to play on both sides.
Still, it was a horrible mistake from the NCAA Tournament and it led to a lot of reactions on social media from fans who were not at all happy.
wouldn’t happen in the men’s tournament 🙄 https://t.co/U6YtVo9C4x

So is this the same court that was played on during the sweet 16?? If so how didn’t they catch this before hand https://t.co/gzNrN608Vx

It’s fair to expect simple things like this to be handled correctly in the most prestigious tournament in women’s basketball, so the outrage seems justified.
