Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark has taken the sports world by storm over the past few years thanks in large part to her prolific three-point shooting ability, and it seems that even NBA legend LeBron James has taken notice of her massive scoring totals.
Ahead of Sunday night’s All-Star Game, LeBron James met with reporters where he was asked about the number of high-scoring games that have taken place in the NBA in recent years – and before an All-Star game that totaled nearly 400 points.
In his response, James brought up Caitlin Clark on his own.
“You seen Caitlin Clark the other night when she broke the record? There’s nothing you can do [defensively],” James said according to The Spun.
Last week, Clark became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball during Iowa’s win on Thursday night as she passed the previous mark set by Kelsey Plum of the Washington Huskies.
Clark is well on pace to pass the all-time scoring record for men and women’s basketball which is currently owned by “Pistol” Pete Maravich, who set the record during his time with the LSU Tigers.
We’ll have to see whether or not Clark can further etch herself into the history books.
