The Kentucky Wildcats have lost three of their last four games including a 103-92 loss to the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night. But despite the losing skid, it doesn’t sound like Calipari has given up on his team just yet.
Following the loss to Tennessee on Saturday night, John Calipari addressed the team’s recent losing skid, saying that he hasn’t lost faith in the squad and pointing out that the team is still dealing with some injuries to key players.
“The kids fought. I haven’t lost any faith,” Calipari said. “We don’t have D.J. [Wagner]. Teams are playing good against us and all our goals are still there. I have a good team. We are young and still make some errors. We’ve got to get healthy.”
In Kentucky’s recent loss to South Carolina, the team was without sophomore forward Adou Thiero. In the recent overtime loss to Florida, Kentucky was without D.J. Wagner and Justin Edwards. Then during the most recent loss to the Tennessee Volunteers, the Wildcats were once again without Wagner but were also without 7-foot-2 freshman Zvonimir Ivisic.
We’ll have to see what this team looks like when it’s fully healthy, especially as we approach March Madness.
