Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark has completely transcended her sport, breaking into the mainstream spotlight due to her lofty list of accomplishments over the course of her collegiate career. And that appears to be extremely valuable to not only the WNBA, but also to other professional sports leagues.
Much has been made about the pay gap between NBA players and the WNBA. And whether or not you believe that should exist, it is a very reality for pretty much every professional basketball player.
This makes it essential that players like Clark, who is set to enter the WNBA Draft later this spring, set up other avenues of revenue for themselves. And Clark may have just found hers in another sports league that she may be able to compete in along with the WNBA.
Ice Cube, the famous hip-hop artist and founder of the Big3 basketball league, took to social media to share that he has offered Clark a “historic” offer to join their basketball league. According to TMZ, the offer would indeed be historic, in the $5 million range should she opt to accept.
“We intended the offer to remain private while Caitlin Clark plays for the championship,” Ice Cube tweeted once TMZ reported on the matter. “But I won’t deny what’s now already out there: Big3 made a historic offer to Caitlin Clark. Why wouldn’t we? Caitlin is a generational athlete who can achieve tremendous success in the Big3.”

Ice Cube continued on to say that this is an opportunity that Clark would be able to pursue during the WNBA offseason, which is certainly an intriguing possibility for the Iowa Hawkeyes star.
If Clark accepts the offer, she would become the first female player in the history of the league.
This is probably the last thing on Clark’s mind at the moment with her team still in the NCAA Tournament awaiting a matchup with the Colorado Buffaloes in the Sweet 16, it is certainly something that she will at least consider moving forward.
