Boxing legend Mike Tyson recently suffered a health scare on a recent plane ride. And unfortunately, that health concern will end up ruining some big plans ahead.

For those unaware of the situation, Tyson suffered a medical emergency on a plane ride this past Sunday to Los Angeles due to an ulcer flare-up.

Just days later, it has been announced that Tyson’s upcoming fight versus YouTube sensation Jake Paul will not be taking place as previously scheduled on July 20th. Netflix, which was going to be the host of the event broadcasted to everyone with a subscription, made the announcement of the cancellation on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Luckily, the fight does still seem to be on course to happen at a later date. The ulcer will seemingly force Tyson to stop training, and it sounds like he wasn’t comfortably fighting Paul on little to no training.

It’s fairly understandable for Tyson to make this decision all things considered. He has everything to lose in this situation given his reputation as one of the “baddest” men on the planet.

Still, it’s obviously incredibly unfortunate to see this fight be delayed for the time being. And fans took to social media to offer their opinion on the matter, with many suggesting that they should cancel the fight altogether due to Tyson’s health scares.

To put it bluntly, Tyson isn’t getting any younger… So maybe there is an argument that this is a sign that the fight probably shouldn’t have been booked in the first place.

Regardless, it should be interesting to see what ends up happening. But at the end of the day, hopefully Tyson is able to get his health concerns under control.
