Vladimir Guerrero Jr., New York Yankee? The Yankees might find this to be newsworthy themselves, but this week, that topic emerged for discussion. The Toronto Blue Jays star expressed a different stance from one he held previously.

Guerrero once expressed that he never wanted to be a Yankee. With New York leading the charge in the American League, while Guerrero’s Blue Jays sit in last place in the AL East, it appears things are changing.

Reporter Mike Rodriguez noted the conversation Guerrero had with Virus Deportivo in which he expressed that he’s open to a potential trade.

Guerrero recalled comments he made about the Yankees, saying he would never want to go there. But his stance has been “softened,” as ESPN wrote.

“Sometimes one says things. It is not that I am trying to take back what I said about the Yankees,” Guerrero said via ESPN. “But this is a business. I sat down and spoke with my dad and my family, and this is a business. And I said I would never again talk about this topic and lots of people have asked me about it.”

It’s important to note that the Jays and the Yankees have no framework currently for a trade. Intra-division trades are pretty rare. But that doesn’t mean it can’t happen either. That’s just where we reside.

The MLB world had plenty to say about this news though.
