Paul Skenes is off to a blistering start to his Major League Baseball career. The Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander made MLB history recently after being named to the National League All-Star team, becoming one of the quickest selections ever. On Thursday, Skenes turned heads again with a brilliant showing against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Skenes dominated the Brew Crew and tossed 11 strikeouts. That’s not all either, as Skenes had a no-hitter going through seven innings pitched. The Pirates might have decided to pull the former LSU standout, but not after he announced his presence on the mound yet again.

It might have flown under the radar on a brilliant day. Skenes, though, made another round of MLB history with his performance. According to Joe Block, he joined elite company with his performance. He becomes only the second Major League pitcher to have multiple starts with no hits and 11 strikeouts or more.

The other pitcher? Nolan Ryan.

Skenes’ unreal talent and ability already has him being discussed among the greatest to ever play the game.

The MLB world had much to say about this absurd statistic.
