NFL training camp drama won’t envelope over the Los Angeles Rams. Star quarterback Matthew Stafford avoided causing a stir at Rams camp by appearing this week.

What’s more, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Rams intend to rework his deal.

Schefter noted Stafford sought “more security” than his currently structured deal offered.

Stafford, a former No. 1 overall pick, flourished since joining the Rams via a trade with the Detroit Lions. Stafford led the Rams to Super Bowl LVI, which they won over the Cincinnati Bengals. Stafford’s prowess offensively helped command the team and he’s held up strong over the past few years. Last year, the Rams surprised and made the playoffs, before fittingly falling to the Lions, Stafford’s former team.

Terms haven’t been disclosed on the re-worked deal. But according to Schefter, the Rams owed him $31 million.

Keeping the quarterback happy is always a plus, so the Rams will do well by serving Stafford.

Stafford’s thrown for 56,047 passing yards and 357 career touchdowns in his career.
