Amid talk that a “package deal” could be in the works, agent Rich Paul talked down the rumors of LeBron and Bronny James teaming up.
Some have speculated for several months now that a team that drafts Bronny James, LeBron’s son, could also get King James to come with them. That includes the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron’s current team, who were reportedly not against the idea.
But on Wednesday, Paul emerged to shoot those rumors down. Paul talked to NBA Draft expert Jonathan Givony and told them no package deal for father and son is on the table.
Rich Paul also says that there is no package deal option for LeBron and Bronny with the Suns or Lakers:
“The Lakers can draft Bronny, and LeBron doesn’t re-sign. LeBron is also not going to Phoenix for a minimum deal. We can squash that now.” https://t.co/uQIOHV5Qev

“Rich Paul also says that there is no package deal option for LeBron and Bronny with the Suns or Lakers,” Givony wrote on X, the website formerly known as Twitter. Givony then continued. “The Lakers can draft Bronny, and LeBron doesn’t re-sign. LeBron is also not going to Phoenix for a minimum deal. We can squash that now.”
The NBA world had much to say about this update, which considering the source, should shut the talk down pretty promptly.
The gymnastics to still turn this into a local talking point for the next week will be impressive. https://t.co/x2YFcKetq0
