Since arriving in San Francisco, Brock Purdy has turned heads everywhere. The former ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ has risen to prominence that nobody could have ever foreseen. He’s led the San Francisco 49ers to two consecutive NFC Championship Games and brought them to Super Bowl LVIII this past season. Like anyone else, 49ers superstar George Kittle has been impressed with what he’s seen.
49ersWebZone recently recapped Kittle’s comments about the third-year quarterback from Iowa State. Specifically, Kittle discussed Purdy’s comfort level in the offense and how he’s transformed it.
“I feel like he’s just more comfortable with the offense. He seems very comfortable with it,” Kittle said via 49erswebzone.com. “And he seems like he’s taking it and making it his offense. Just his confidence in the pocket, throwing the ball, telling guys, ‘Hey, you need to do this. You need to push your route depth here. Yeah, you need to run out of it.’
Kittle continued, “He just has this confidence, and he just has this, like, ‘This is my job.’ And it’s not something that—I want to say you’re always fighting for your job—but he’s like, ‘I’m making this job better. I’m getting better while I’m out here.'”
Purdy’s transformation has been dazzling to watch, and if he brings the Lombardi back to San Francisco, he’ll be in rarified air.
