The University of Alabama plans to honor legendary head coach Nick Saban. According to a report that emerged on Thursday morning, the Crimson Tide intend to put Saban’s namesake on the field. Literally.

On September 7, the university will honor Saban by naming the field after him at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Tide Illustrated reported the massive news on Saban’s legendary status, which will become immortalized this fall.

“Nick Saban’s legendary status at Alabama will reach a new level this fall,” Tide Illustrated’s Tony Tsoukalas posted Thursday morning. “Tide Illustrated has learned that Alabama is set to dedicate the field inside Bryant-Denny Stadium to the head caoh during a ceremony on Sept. 7.”

Tsoukalas reported the news on X, the popular website formerly known as Twitter.

Saban arrived at Alabama in 2007. After a dismal 6-6 season in his first year, the Tide roared from that point on. Saban won nine SEC Championships and six National Championships while leading the charge in Tuscaloosa. He had a legendary coaching career with the Crimson Tide, and now will receive one of the highest honors a coach can receive.

The sports world had much to say over the big news on Saban at Alabama.
