As training camp begins, the San Francisco 49ers are facing a dilemma. Not only is Brandon Aiyuk unsatisfied with his contract, so is another key offensive player.
Left tackle Trent Williams, one of the best offensive linemen in football, is holding out. Williams was a no-show for training camp on Wednesday, unlike AIyuk, who was present despite drama between both sides.
Williams’ presence, or lack thereof, caused a stir on Wednesday in the Bay. Nick Wagoner reported on his status this week.
#49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says LT Trent Williams was not at practice because of contract related issues.
John Lynch is working with Williams’ agents to get it worked out.

#49ers LT Trent Williams is a hold OUT. He did not report like Brandon Aiyuk did. He’s subject to $50k per day fines which cannot be forgiven under the CBA because he’s beyond his rookie contract.

Williams is a vital piece to the puzzle in San Francisco, so the hope is the Niners and he can work out a new deal with haste.
The NFL world had much to say over the emerging dilemma in San Francisco.

Damn right, Trent! As far as I'm concerned you shouldn't play another down for the 49ers after such disrespect. https://t.co/5UjaigJCSP
