Almost 60 years to the day the anniversary of the first ascent up Mount Everest Russian adventurer Valery Rozov made his own history on the iconic mountain. It took two years of painstakingly detailed planning for the 48-year-old extreme sport star to BASE jump off Mount Everest. Rozov leaped off a summit some 23,680-feet above sea level in a customized wingsuit. Braving the thin air and freezing temperatures Rozov, four sherpas and a camera crew climbed up the Chinese side of the planet’s highest mountain. The terrifying BASE jump had Rozov attaining ridiculous speeds of 125 mph and finally landing safely on the Rongbuk glacier.
