According to Chris Mortensen (who is dominating the off-season coaching replacement reporting world) ‘Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski will be the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns, per league source.’ The Cleveland Browns have also apparently confirmed the hiring. The 44-year-old offensive coordinator, now head coach, has been with the Panthers for the past two years and has been mentoring a certain Cam Newton. The Panthers finished 5th in total offense in 2011 and they finished 12th last season under the tutelage of Chudzinski. ‘Chud’ started his NFL career with the Browns as their tight ends coach and interim offensive coordinator during the 2004 season, he then moved on as the Chargers Tight Ends coach, and went back to the Browns in 2007 as the offensive coordinator. After another quick stint back with the Chargers, Chud made his way to Carolina as their offensive play caller.
Rob Chudzinksi is a done deal. He is the Browns new head coach. Confirmed.
