Two of the biggest names in the upcoming NFL Draft process reside in Boulder, Colorado. The Colorado Buffaloes have two electric players expected to go in the first round, with quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
Each star has a real possibility of going number one overall to the Tennessee Titans or to whomever the Titans may trade the rights for the pick to. However, there’s a new wrinkle to the situation that the NFL won’t be happy about.
The league loves to broadcast its first-round prospects as they get drafted and shake League Commissioner Roger Goodell’s hands walking across the stage. The draft is always a huge deal and televising it is an easy way for the league to sell ad space in the offseason.
So Goodell won’t be too happy about the Buffs’ stars’ alleged decision to devalue the event.
“Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter will not attend the NFL draft, instead participating in public draft-day party in Boulder,” Pro Football Talk reported on Wednesday evening.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Are we sure they will attend the NFL if drafted? Perhaps they will just release weekly YouTube videos of them playing catch to show everyone they could be really good if they chose to play in the NFL,” one fan wrote on Twitter, clearly not thrilled with the pair’s decision.
“Well… of course, they won’t be there. They have to make their own headlines and get the media coverage in Colorado. Bad move in my opinion. Share it with your community but attend the draft,” one fan added.
“I really hope they stay on the board until late in the 1st round and even into the 2nd round..and keep the TV cameras on their faces..it will break the sports internet,” one fan wrote.
“To be honest, neither should be top 10 – but teams are either desperate for any type of spark, or owners just wanna get seats in the stands off those 2 names – they gonna be so mid-average No I’m not a hater, I just live in reality,” another fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if this is the start of a new trend of top prospects skipping the event.
